      This page contains useful information which will help you prepare for your Private Pilot (PP) theory and practical exam. This page will not teach you how to fly your aircraft, for this we recommend using IVAO's training documentation and YouTube tutorials. 


Available courses

This is a course designed for members rated ADC+ as an introduction/ refresher on Heathrow Aerodrome procedures. 


This course can be taken once you have met the following criteria:

  • You hold an ADC rating.
  • You are a member of the XU Division.
  • You have successfully completed the Approach radar introduction Practical session and have been approved to solo standard.

Students with legacy ratings on APC positions involved, will be assessed on a case by case basis.

On successful completion you will be derestricted on the following positions: 

Dublin Approach - EIDW_APP

De-restriction is a manual process. Please expect this to take up to 7 days. If you haven’t received your de-restriction within 7 days, please open a ticket in the XU Discord.

We reserve the right to request the removal of a de-restriction if we feel that a member isn’t controlling to high enough standards. If this is the case, a student will be informed and have their de-restrictions removed for 6 weeks. At the end of this period the TC or TAC will assess the student and make decisions as required and increase or remove the restriction as necessary.

This course can be taken once you have met the following criteria:

  • You hold an ADC rating.
  • You are a member of the XU Division.

This course will unlock after completing the AS1 and AS2 courses.

Please note this course will NOT change your network rating. To gain an AS3, you must also pass the IVAC/Aurora exam on the main IVAO website and have over 25 hours of ATC time. 

This course will unlock after completing the AS1 course.

Please note your IVAO rating will not change to AS2 until you have reached 10 hours providing ATC.

Please complete this course first. Once completed, the AS2 course will unlock.

  • You are a member of the XU Division.
  • You have completed the IVAC exam or ADC knowledge check.

On successful completion you will be derestricted on the following positions: 

Dublin - EIDW_GND and TWR

This course is designed to check your knowledge of Aerodrome control before going on to OJT sessions

This course can be taken once you have met the following criteria:

  • You must have passed the AS1, AS2 and AS3 courses before attempting this check.
  • You are a member of the XU Division.
